Lama's accompaniment
The attitude with which we approach a teacher is key. The motivation should be to learn, to open ourselves to a broader perspective on what we experience, from a dharmic point of view. This is not a psychotherapeutic approach nor one focused solely on solving concrete and immediate problems, but rather one that seeks to go to the root of suffering and confusion, opening paths towards a deeper and more liberating understanding. Therefore, it is important to cultivate an open attitude, with a willingness to listen and learn, beyond what we may have already expected or wanted to hear.
This accompaniment gains its full meaning when the person maintains some form of practice and participates in ongoing dharmic training, such as the Casa Virupa meditation course, the reading group or the study group.
There are several formats to receive accompaniment from Lama Norbu. This space is reserved for people who are part of the Casa Virupa network.
These are brief in-person meetings — a maximum of 20 minutes — designed primarily to nurture the bond with the teacher through the intimacy of being present. They can be used to share brief questions, ask for advice, or make a request or offering. If you would like to request an interview with Lama, please fill out the following form here.
For extensive consultations that require more context about your situation, we recommend taking advantage of the following formats, both in-person and written.
If you are a student at Casa Virupa or attend any of its activities, you will be able to interact with Lama in the context of teachings and also at other informal gatherings where you may coincide.
Additionally, if you are a regular volunteer, you will know that you can meet over meals, at the Saturday gathering "Vespres amb el Lama" and at the quarterly session dedicated to volunteering and the Dharma.
To ensure the quality of the accompaniment, you have this space (notes to Lama) available to send brief enquiries, as well as more extensive ones (letters to Lama) that he will respond to weekly. If there is an urgent enquiry, please let us know by contacting Lama directly or through any of the Casa Virupa instructors.
Remember that, in order for Lama to continue responding to enquiries on an ongoing basis, he needs to be able to sustain himself. For this reason, please consider making a donation:
